Bethel Anderson of Dawson, died January 15, 2016 at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson, MN at the age of 87.
Funeral service will be held Friday, January 22, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson with Rev. Kendall Stelter officiating and interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 21 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson with a prayer service at 6:30 P.M. There will also be visitation at the church for one hour before the services on Friday.
Bethel Jean Crane was born June 17, 1928 in Clarkfield, MN the daughter of Darrell and Lillian (Lee) Crane. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dawson. Bethel graduated from Dawson High School in 1946. She was united in marriage with Gordon Bergeson June 27, 1948 in Dawson. They made their home in Dawson and she worked as a secretary for the Dawson Public School District 378 for 27 years. Gordon died August 26, 1980. She continued to live in Dawson until she married Leland Anderson on January 2, 1993. They spent their winters in Mesa, AZ and the rest of their time on the farm near Granite Falls, MN. Leland died December 30, 2000. Bethel loved people, volunteering in the community and spending time with her family. She enjoyed music and dancing, entertaining, and traveling.
She is survived by her children: Mary (Kent) Gilbertson of Rosemount, MN, Jeff (Debbie) Bergeson of Lakeville, MN, Nancy Bergeson of Buffalo, MN, and Thomas (Dawn) Bergeson of Gayville, SD ; grandchildren: Tanya (Jeff) Zehnder, Ryan (Kari) Gilbertson, Lindsey (Brett) Zisler, Lara Bergeson, Kristina Ketz Mandler , Kari (Sheldon) Wolf, Shane Mandler, Kayla (Joe) Hawke, Sarah Talafuse Hudnall, Nathan Bergeson, Christopher Bergeson, and Stephen Bergeson; 14 great grandchildren, step-son, Michael Anderson; step-grandchildren: Jack, Blaine, and Alana Anderson, Tony (Angie) Paulson, Katie (Ben) Paulson, Jolene (Joe) Ziegler; her siblings: Lee (Sandra) Crane of Newport, RI, Gail Ohman of Moline, IL and Linda Lund of Rosemount, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands: Gordon Bergeson and Leland Anderson; step-children: Catherine Paulson and Steve Anderson; a sister, Nancy Wedding; and in-laws: Henry Wedding, Paul Ohman, and Stanford Lund.
Memorials are preferred to Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson; Rice Memorial Hospice; or Johnson Memorial Health Services.
