Dorothy Estlie, of Dawson, died Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson at the age of 85.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church.  Pastors Kendall Stelter and Brooke Apple will officiate. Interment will be at Ft. Snelling Cemetery.

Visitation will be held for 1 hour before the services at the church.

Dorothy Jean (Ekstrom) Estlie was born May 13, 1931 at Redwood Falls, MN the daughter of Arthur and Grace (Heimer) Ekstrom.  She graduated from Madison High School in 1949.  Dorothy was united in marriage with Paul Estlie April 22, 1954.  They had four children: Clifford, Carol, Peter, and Ann.  They rented homes in Dawson and finally bought their home south of the river in 1969.  Later, after a city buyout (due to flood zone area) they moved to 510 Maple Street.  She and Paul loved traveling to visit their children and spending time with family.  She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary.  She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino, and she enjoyed baking.  Dorothy always had the local sporting events on her radio and attended as many events as she could. Paul died November 22, 2011; at that time, Dorothy moved to the JMCC where she resided for the past 5 years and she was loved dearly by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children: Clifford (Lorraine) Estlie of Lino Lakes, MN, Carol (Robert) Bowen of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Peter (Katie) Estlie of St. Paul, MN, and Ann Berg of Eden Prairie, MN; nine grandchildren: Carla Stavroulakis, Andrew  (Angelic) Stavroulakis, Terra (Andrew) Erickson, Kayla (PJ) Hauan, Rachel Berg,  Ryan Berg, Allison Estlie, Joe Estlie, and Will Estlie; five great-grandchildren: Aubrielle Stavroulakis, Jude, Thad, and Athena Erickson, and Zoey Hauan; a brother, Donald Ekstrom of Princeton, MN; and a sister, Barbara Chester of Madison, MN.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Paul; and brother, Marlin Ekstrom.
