Elaine A (Ellefson) Himley

Elaine Himley, of Dawson and formerly of Montevideo, died Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson at the age of 90.

A memorial service will be held Monday, July 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson.  Pastor Kendall Stelter and Pastor Brooke Apple will officiate and interment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens rural, Montevideo.

Elaine A. (Ellefson) Himley was born September 20, 1925 in Dawson, MN on September 20, 1925 the daughter of Omer and Ione (Jerde) Ellefson.  She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dawson by Rev. G. Froiland. Elaine was united in marriage with James Himley in 1945.  They lived in Montevideo in the summer and wintered in McAllen, TX for many years.  Jim and Elaine were avid golfers and played in many tournaments.  They had no children but were wonderful aunt and uncle to all of their nieces and nephews.  Jim passed away on June 2, 1996.  Elaine continued to live in Montevideo until moving to Dawson in 2014.

She is survived by her twin sister, Eloise Ronning; her sister, Mary Ellen Brown; sisters-in-law: Priscilla Ellefson and Andy Himley; and several nieces and nephews;

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, James; a brother, Omer Ellefson, Jr.; brothers-in-law: Kirtis “Bud” Himley and Harris Ronning; a niece, Camille Ronning Goewey; and a nephew, Joel Himley.

We will miss her so much.
