Eleanor (Fjerkenstad) Weber

February 3, 1935 ~ December 23, 2017 (age 82) 82 Years Old

Eleanor Weber of Dawson passed away on Saturday, December 23rd, 2017 at Johnson Memorial Nursing Home at the age of 82.

Memorial service will be held on January 3, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson.  Rev. Kendall Stelter will officiate and interment will be at Grace Lutheran Cemetery.

Eleanor Ann (Fjerkenstad) Weber was born in Boyd, MN February 3rd, 1935 to Palmer and Lucille (Danielson) Fjerkenstad. She graduated from Dawson High School in 1954. Eleanor loved to crochet and color and found much humor in life. She also had a hidden aspiration to be an accordion player as she dearly loved to dance and listen to polka music and was unusually proficient at improvised playing of keyboard instruments. She held several occupations in her life but her favorite was with the YMCA in Willmar MN where she took great pride in her work and talked fondly of her supervisor and co-workers. Her time there was a turning point in her life due to YMCA personnel’s loving treatment; she acquired a second family at the YMCA that she forever cherished. It was truly one of the shining moments in her life. After her life in Willmar, Eleanor was blessed again by the caring staff at the Clarkfield Care Center and Johnson Memorial Care Center of Dawson where she resided from 2008 until now. Her 2013 coronation as Clarkfield Care Center Queen and later Johnson Memorial Center Resident of the Month were two other highlights, and honors that brought to her much joy, pride and delight and were endearing and heart warming recognitions to a respectful and independent life filled with challenges most will never understand.

Eleanor leaves behind her brother and sister-in-law Roger and Lois Fjerkenstad; sister and brother-in-law Diane and Roger Seefeld; and two daughters and their spouses Roxann and Greg Patzman and Lori and Dan McIntyre.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to either the Johnson Memorial Care Center of Dawson, the Clarkfield Care Center or to the Willmar YMCA in Eleanor’s honor.

O Lord, support us all the day long, until the shadows lengthen and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done. Then in thy mercy grant us a safe lodging, and a holy rest, and peace at last.
