Elvira Mae (Braness) Heinrich was born on January 28, 1925 in Garfield Township to August J. and Emma Frances (Enger) Braness.  She was baptized on Easter Sunday, April, 1925 at Garfield Lutheran Church.  In 1939 she was confirmed at Augusta Lutheran Church. She attended rural school at District # 108 in Mehurin Twp. through the 8th grade.  She went to Darwin to work for Jim and Katie Shelly for a year, then came back and worked at the Madison Hospital as a 2nd cook and a nurses aid  for two years.  On March 28, 1948 she was united in marriage to Harold George Heinrich at the Augusta Lutheran Church of Marietta, MN.  They lived on the Heinrich homestead for 43 years.  Harold was injured in a farm accident in 1965, so she put her nurses aid training to work again as well as in 1989 when Harold was diagnosed with cancer she took care of him.

In April, 1993, she moved to Dawson to be near her son. In October of 2014 she moved to assisted living in Madison.  She worked for Green Thumb for a few years, helped at Dawson Prairie Five Senior meal site, and cleaned the Dawson Library.  She enjoyed going fishing, playing cards, watching wildlife,  vegetable and flower gardening, quilting and cooking.  She was always there to help someone when needed.

She is survived by her daughter in law, Linda Heinrich of Dawson; step-grandson, Aaron Lange; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Strand of Madison, MN and Florence Braness of Dassel, MN; nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
