Gayle Deanne (Connor) Lindquist

Gayle Lindquist died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at her home in rural Madison at the age of 74.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Garfield Lutheran Church in rural Madison. MN.  Pastor Bruce Bringle and Pastor Erik Carlson will officiate and interment will be at the church cemetery.  

Visitation will be held Friday, November 11 from 5-7:00 PM at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson with a prayer service at 6:30 PM.  There will be visitation at the church for one hour before the services on Saturday.

Gayle Deanne (Connor) Lindquist was born on March 21, 1942 in Dawson, MN to Orville and Grace (Grobel) Connor.  She was baptized in August of 1942 at Riverside Lutheran Church in Dawson.  She was later confirmed in September of 1956 at Garfield Lutheran Church in rural Madison.  Gayle attended school in Dawson.  

On July 3, 1959, Gayle was united in marriage to Wayne Lindquist at Garfield Lutheran Church and together they raised four children.  She loved to spend time at her lake home on Maple Lake near Alexandria with her children and grandchildren.  Gayle was a very determined woman and completed nearly everything she set her mind to.  She once rode her bicycle from Dawson to outside of Starbuck on her way to Alexandria.  She also tried barefoot water skiing when she was in her 50's and swam with her family across the lake on many occasions.  She learned to sew, did wallpapering, woodworking, and took online classes through the technical college in Granite Falls.  Gayle also helped with farm work and did everything from bookwork to driving the combine during harvest. She worked at the Johnson Memorial Assisted Living as a Certified Nurse’s Aide and managed some apartment buildings in Dawson.  She loved the people who lived there and worked very hard to make them feel special.  Gayle had a passion for animals and rescued many cats and dogs.  

Gayle is survived by her husband, Wayne; her children: Denell Lindquist of Minnepolis, MN, Kirk (Susan) Lindquist of Minnetonka, MN, and Derek (Renee) Lindquist of Alexandria, MN; grandchildren: MacKenzie, Kayla, Taylor, and Payton; a sister, Judy (Russell) Larson of Dawson, MN; brothers-in-law: Alton (Janice) Lindquist of Madison, MN and Larry (Nancy) Lindquist of Sparta, MI; sister-in-law, Sharon (Pat) Schneider of Seguin, TX; nieces; nephews; and many close friends.  

Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter, Yvette Lindquist; and sisters: Eunice (Gordon) Swenson and Betty (Verdie) Heieren; and a brother, Curtis Connor.
