Oscar E Pearson

December 26, 1948 ~ August 13, 2017 (age 68) 68 Years Old

Oscar E. Pearson passed away on August 13, 2017 at the Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson, MN at the age of 68.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson.  Rev. Kendall Stelter will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery. 

Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the church on Monday.

Oscar was born on December 26, 1948 in Dawson to William “Bill” and Lorraine (West)  Pearson.  He was baptized at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Dawson, and attended grade and junior high school in Dawson before attending technical schooling in Mankato, MN.  Oscar went on to work for Honeywell and General Mills in Minneapolis.  Later, he worked for motels in Belle Plaine, MN and Litchfield, MN before retiring in 2011 and moving to Riverside Manor in Dawson where he assisted in management of the daily lunch program. 

Upon returning to Dawson, Oscar quickly became involved in several community activities, including membership in the softball, golf, and bowling leagues.  He enjoyed playing cards and was responsible for setting up card nights for Riverside Manor residents and their friends.  He also regularly attended similar social events at the Boyd and Dawson senior citizen centers.  Oscar was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson where he served as an usher. 

Oscar is survived by his brother, Bill (Drexel) Pearson of Dallas, TX; nephews: Steven (Pattie) Pearson of Dallas, TX, Michael (Leslie) Pearson of Carrollton, TX, Scott (Colleen) Sorenson of St. Cloud, MN, and David Sorenson of Inver Grove Heights, MN; nieces: Debra Boe of Dawson, MN and Kimberly (Mike) Pease of Rochester, MN; as well as many other extended relatives and friends.  

Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Dianna Sorenson and MaryAnn (Donald) Boe; and brother, Tommy Pearson.

Oscar always had a sense of humor and his mind was keen to the last hour of his life.  He will be missed.  The Pearson, Sorenson, and Boe families would like to thank everyone in the Dawson community for their support, thoughts, and prayers.
