Conrad Hofseth Obituary

Conrad Hofseth, of Dawson, died Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson, MN at the age of 97.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Lac qui Parle Lutheran Church Cemetery with Pastor Bruce Bringle officiating.  Mask and social distancing are encouraged.

Visitation and viewing will be held Friday, September 25, 2020 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM with a  prayer service starting at 6:30 PM at Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson.  Masks and social distancing will be required.

Conrad Oliver Hofseth was born November 21, 1922 to Sigvart and Johanna (Johnson) Hofseth in Lac qui Parle County, MN.  He attended and graduated from Dawson High School.  After high school Conrad joined the United States Coast Guard where he served in World War II.  He was united in marriage to Theola Mattson on June 26, 1949 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dawson.  Together they adopted three children: James, Curtis and Shari Jo.  He worked for the State of Minnesota Livestock Weighing Department which caused their family to live in several communities.

Conrad was a member of Lac qui Parle Lutheran Church where he was involved with the church bible study and served as a Deacon for many years.  He was a member of the Dawson VFW and American Legion.  Conrad enjoyed traveling and spending time outside fishing and camping.

Conrad is survived by his children, James and Curtis; grandchildren: Joshua Hofseth, Hannah Zenke, Jessica Brouwer, Jamie (Jason) Olson, and DJ Brouwer; nine great-grandchildren: Taylor Smith, Zachary Smith, Jordan Smith, Gaven Brouwer, Lexi Dietz, Elliot Dietz, Kyler Dietz, Ryan Brouwer, and Otis Zenke; a son-in-law, Daryl Brouwer; sister, Gerda Dolman; and numerous family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Theola in 2014; daughter, Shari Jo Brouwer, in 2010; brother, Sidney Hofseth; and sisters, Agnes Jerpseth, Hazel Omen, and Marie Arneson.
