Myrtle Anderson Obituary

Myrtle Anderson of Dawson died Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at the Johnson Memorial Care Center at the age of 98 years and 1 month. 

Memorial service will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the Dawson Covenant Church, rural Dawson with Pastor John Norland officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Dawson Covenant Church and Johnson Memorial.

Myrtle Marie Miller was born August 29th, 1922 at her home in Yellow Medicine County to Aaron and Lillian Miller, the third of four children. She was baptized at the Mission Covenant Church, rural Dawson. She attended country school in Maxwell township at District 25 and was confirmed at the Covenant Church.

She married Wesley Anderson November 12th, 1952 at Mission Covenant Church. To this union were born four children. They lived and farmed in Providence Township before moving into Dawson in 1995 and to Johnson Memorial Home in 2008. Myrtle enjoyed reading, gardening, embroidery, and hosting company at her home, whether it be a neighbor from down the road or large family gatherings.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and of the Dawson Covenant Church where she was very active with the Ladies Aid and loved participating in the yearly Lucia Fest leading up to Christmas.

She is survived by three children; Sharon Anderson of Richfield, Connie (Tim) Larson of Valentine, NE, and Ray (Pat) Anderson of Rochester, MN; five grandchildren: Benjamin Larson of Fremont, NE, Erin Larson of Valentine, NE, Ethan (Holly) Larson of Norfolk, NE, Elizabeth Anderson of Roseville, MN, and Neal Anderson of Nashville, TN; three great-grandchildren: Christen Larson and Case Larson and Halle Larson (soon to be the big sister), and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Wesley, a stillborn daughter Joan Beth Anderson, her brothers Lowell and Loyd, her sister Dorothy. She was the last of her generation, including in-laws. Blessed be her memory.
