To the family of Dale Beninga,
As a young boy and throughout my childhood, I remember Dale (he was Sam to us) working for my Dad at State Line Station. He was patient and kind to us kids, even though we must have gotten in his way while he was working in the garage. I was fascinated by all the engine parts he would remove and would watch him put them back together again. And he must have been a good mechanic as his customers came from far and wide.
After moving to California, when if I returned to Marietta for a visit, there was Sam at State Line; he was a fixture there.
