Geraldine Nelson Obituary

Geraldine Nelson died Friday, July 20, 2018 at Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson at the age of 66.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Johnson Memorial Care Center Chapel with Pastors Pat Moe and Sara  Carlstrom officiating.

Visitation will be held at the chapel for one hour before the service.  Arrangements are with Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson.

Geraldine Theodora Mary (Hedtke) Neslon was born April 10, 1952 at St. Paul, MN the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Wiedholz) Hedtke.  She graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1970.  She worked at the Pick Wick Buffet in downtown Minneapolis.  Geraldine was united in marriage with Bruce Nelson July 6, 1974 at Roslyn Park Wesleyan Church in Fridley.  They made their home in the Twin Cities and moved to Dawson in the early 1990's.  She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1983.  She enjoyed playing bingo and doing crafts and ceramics.  She also enjoyed music, church services and watching movies.  Her favorite tv show was Little House on the Prairie.  Geraldine loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce; two sons: Jason and Daniel (Misty) Nelson all of Dawson; two grandchildren: Theodore and Jade; two brothers: Bill Hedtke of East Bethel and August Hedtke, Jr. of Wasesca; three sisters: Carol Schultz of Coon Rapids, Nancy (Duane) Jones of Naples, FL, and Joanne Windhowsen of Madison; numerous nieces and nephews; and best fried, Diane (Ed) Wetterstrom of Ham Lake..

Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers: Donald Hedtke and Dick Hedtke as a child.
