Christopher “Chris” James Erion was born on August 18, 1988, in Minneapolis, MN, to Robert and Colleen (Flanagan) Erion. He grew up in Newport, MN, and was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. In 2007, Chris graduated from Park High School in Cottage Grove, MN. From 2012-2014, he attended Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN, receiving his Associate in Applied Science Degree in Law Enforcement. He then went on for Law Enforcement Basic Training Skills at Alexandria Technichal College in Alexandria, MN. 2019 was a big year for Chris when he obtained his CDL and embarked on many adventures driving semi truck for Jakel Trucking of Sacred Heart, MN. On July 20, 2019, he was united in marriage to Jennifer Woodbeck at Rock Haven Church in Granite Falls, MN.

Chris was the first grandchild and may have been a “little spoiled” by his parents, grandparents, several uncles and beloved aunt, Kari Flanagan (Joe Derowski) of Bayonne, NJ. He earned the nickname “Stix” by playing percussion in the school band from elementary until graduation from high school. Chris was also active in youth wrestling, Boy Scouts and Air Force JROTC. Other favorite activities included playing poker, watching movies, kayaking, riding his motorcycle and traveling all over the United States. Chris loved animals and had fond memories of many beloved pets including his current “children” Bailey the Black lab and indoor cats Peanut and Snickers. Chris was very passionate about living life to the fullest and never hesitated to drop everything to help a friend in need.

Chris died unexpectedly at CentraCare Hospital in St. Cloud, MN, on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer, of Montevideo, MN, mother Colleen Erion (Rudi Nunlist) of Kensington, CA, father Robert Erion and stepmother Amy Berg of New Hope, MN, his sister Stephanie Erion (fiance Micheal Roderick) of Henning, MN, stepbrother Asher Berg (Rachel McCarten) of Royal Oak, MI, parents-in-law Bill and Pam Ochocki of Hendricks, MN, sister-in-law Erin Kletscher of Vesta, MN, brother-in-law Jared Ochocki of Hendricks, MN, maternal grandmother Serene Flanagan of Detroit Lakes, MN, paternal grandmother, Darlene Erion of St. Michael, MN and paternal grandparents, Robert & Charlotte Holen of Scottsdale, AZ . Chris had a special spot in his heart for his niece, Callie Kletscher, and was eagerly awaiting a new baby niece or nephew expected to arrive around his birthday later this year! He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James Flanagan, paternal grandfather, Norman Erion, and brother-in-law Randy Kletscher.
