George Livingston Vick, Jr. was born June 22, 1950, in Madison, MN to George and Josephine (Wagner) Vick.  He was baptized and confirmed at Borgund Lutheran Church.  George graduated from Madison High School in 1968. After high school he achieved an Associate Degree of Business from Southwest Minnesota State College.  He was united in marriage to Sharon Olson on December 22, 1973, at Faith Lutheran Church in Madison.  They made their home in rural Dawson where they raised two children – Jonathan and Sarah.

George drove bus for the Dawson – Boyd School District for 35 years, taking kids to and from school and driving Blackjack teams to sporting events. To give back to the communities he lived in, George served as clerk on the Providence Town Board for over 20 years and was involved with Upper Minnesota Valley Regional Development Commission.

He was a people person and liked talking to everyone. He enjoyed getting to know the families of his bus route. His love for sports was not only for his local high school teams, but also for the Minnesota Twins, Gophers, and Vikings. George took joy in nature and birdwatching. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family playing cards and games—especially horseshoes and competitive cribbage matches with his daughter. Ultimately his love for his family was greatest, and his children and granddaughters were his pride and joy.

George is survived by his wife, Sharon; son, Jonathan Vick of Ft. Collins, CO; daughter, Sarah (Jason) Behrendt of Wabasso, MN; granddaughters, Cora and Ella Behrendt; siblings, Terry (Deb Rakow) Vick and Bethel (Bill) Blank; and other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Gary; and half-siblings, Aldie (Margaret) Vick, Hope (Roger) Pederson, Joyce (Willard) DeAustin, and Sheldon (Norma) Vick.
