Alice Schueller, of Dawson, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at her home in rural Dawson at the age of 76.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 2:00 PM at St. James Catholic Church. The Celebrant will be Fr. Bill Sprigler and burial will be at St. James Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 5 from 5-7:00 PM with a prayer service starting at 7PM at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson.  There will be visitation at the church for one hour before the services on Friday.

Alice Marie (Liebl) Schueller was born January 5, 1940 in Springfield, MN to Louie and Mabel (Johnson) Liebl.  She was baptized at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Springfield and confirmed at St. James Catholic Church in Dawson.  She attended school District #32 until 4th grade and continued to Sanborn Public School until 7th grade.  Alice and her family moved to Dawson in 1952 where she graduated from Dawson High School in 1957.  On October 26, 1957, Alice was united in marriage to Adrian Schueller.

Alice had many jobs working as an Administrative Assistant.  She worked in law offices in Dawson and in Redwood County and later worked for the court in Chippewa County.  Alice was a foster parent since 1987 and fostered over 20 children and most of them learned how to play Canasta with her.  She was a caregiver and a great cook; making meals for others and dropping them off for them.  She could make the best Chex Mix and not just bowls full but entire roasters full and enjoyed sharing it with her family and friends.

Alice loved to travel and she and Adrian took many trips together along with her children and her siblings.  Their favorite places to take RV camping trips were to Fort Sisseton, SD, Minnesota State Fair and the Spencer, IA State Fair.  She enjoyed fishing, reading, playing cards (especially Canasta), ghost stories, playing with her dogs: Mitzi and Pinky, watching the I.D. Channel on TV, and was queen of doing word searches.  Alice’s faith was important to her and was very much a part of her life: she would always say, “If you don’t have God in your life, you have nothing.”

Alice is survived by her son, Jerry Schueller of Hector, MN; two daughters: Julie (Rick) Stiklestad of Minneota, MN and Tammy (Dale) Banken of Dawson, MN; 7 grandchildren: Nicole (Todd) Marschall, Lindsey (Mike) Jernberg, Rachel (Collin) Schlief, Steffan Stiklestad and special friend Melinda Drietz, Joseph (Jamie) Banken, Amy Banken and fiancé Kraig Prisinger, and Andrew Banken; 6 great-grandchildren: Caiden, Addison, Breckon, Ariana, Rhyker, and Christian; a sister, Mary Larson; a brother, Leonard Liebl; many brothers and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Adrian in 1995; her twin brother, Aloys; brothers, Armin and Gene; her sister, Elaine; 2 siblings in infancy; sister-in-law, Ione Liebl; brother-in-law, Swede Hammerschmidt; a nephew, Tom Liebl; and many other family members.

Blessed be her memory.
